AST SpaceMobile Faces Class Action Lawsuit Alleging Securities Fraud

AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTS) is currently facing a class action securities lawsuit that seeks to recover losses of shareholders who were allegedly affected by securities fraud between November 14, 2023, and April 1, 2024. The lawsuit claims that the company made false statements and/or concealed information regarding the production of its first generation of commercial satellites, known as Block 1 BlueBird satellites.

According to the filed complaint, AST SpaceMobile’s production of the Block 1 BlueBird satellites was negatively impacted by two suppliers of key subsystems. As a result, the company had not substantially completed the production of these satellites, and they were not on track to launch in the first quarter of 2024. The lawsuit alleges that defendants’ positive statements about the company’s business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and lacked a reasonable basis.
