Biden Administration Approves Controversial Grants for Global Initiatives

The Biden administration has faced criticism for approving several grants that have raised concerns about excessive deficit spending and the prioritization of ideological agendas. The latest inflation numbers indicate a 3.5 percent annual growth in consumer prices, which has left millions of families struggling to recover from the pandemic’s impact.

In 2023, the federal government spent $6.1 trillion, resulting in a staggering $1.7 trillion deficit. Despite this, the Biden administration continues to pursue policies that increase deficits, leading to concerns about the country’s ability to sustain such reckless spending. Lower deficits are seen as crucial for a smoother-running economy.

Critics argue that many elected officials view the federal government as a vast source of funding, leading to the approval of grants that prioritize left-leaning causes. Examples of such grants include $45 million for a “diversity and inclusion” scholarship in Burma, $3 million for “girl-centered climate action” in Brazil, $125 million to racialize public health through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, $573,000 to anti-Israel groups for fighting “disinformation,” and $288,563 for “diverse” bird watcher groups.

These grants have raised concerns about their effectiveness and alignment with the country’s priorities. Critics argue that the grants divert resources from addressing more pressing issues and contribute to the growing national debt, which currently stands at $34.6 trillion.

As Congress begins work on legislation to fund the federal government in 2025, legislators are urged to examine the agencies and programs funding these grants to identify potential savings for taxpayers.
