Chargers Make Significant Changes to Coaching Staff and Front Office

The Los Angeles Chargers have made significant changes to their coaching staff and front office in the offseason. After a disappointing season and the departure of general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Brandon Staley, the Chargers have restructured their managerial structure. The decision-making hierarchy now runs through head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has been tasked with maximizing the potential of quarterback Justin Herbert.

The Chargers have also made changes to their coaching staff, bringing in Joe Hortiz as the new general manager and Chad Alexander as the assistant general manager. Michigan defensive coordinator Jesse Minter has joined Harbaugh’s staff as the Chargers’ defensive coordinator. The team has also added several other coaches, including Greg Roman as the offensive coordinator and NaVorro Bowman as the linebackers coach.

In terms of player transactions, the Chargers traded wide receiver Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick. They have also made several free-agent signings, including running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins, outside linebacker Bud Dupree, cornerback Kristian Fulton, wide receiver DJ Chark, linebacker Denzel Perryman, tight ends Will Dissly, Jesper Horsted, and Hayden Hurst, safety Tony Jefferson, center Bradley Bozeman, and offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood.
