Despite his new venture, Santos has expressed his intention to potentially return to Congress in the future. He stated that he is not currently seeking immediate reinstatement but aims to regain the trust of the American people and continue his efforts to expose corruption within the federal government. Santos is currently facing 23 charges, including allegations of inflating campaign finance reports and misleading donors. The U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York has confirmed that plea negotiations are ongoing, although Santos has suggested that a plea deal is off the table.
