Korea Eximbank Signs $810 Million Credit Agreement for Railway-Road Bridge Project in Bangladesh

Korea Eximbank President Yoon Hee-sung met with Shahriar Kader Siddiky, Secretary of the Economic Relations Division under the Ministry of Finance in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on June 27. During the meeting, they signed a credit agreement for a railway-road combined bridge project across the Karnaphuli River in the southeastern Chattogram region.

The total cost of the project is $1.24 billion, with the Bangladesh government investing $430 million. The credit agreement involves a loan of $810 million, with $720 million coming from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), making it the largest project ever supported by the EDCF. The remaining $90 million will be provided by the Economic Development Promotion Fund (EDPF).
