Philadelphia 76ers Optimistic About Signing Paul George in Free Agency

The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly growing optimistic about their chances of signing Paul George in free agency, according to a report by Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report. While no official agreement has been reached, the Sixers are among a few teams capable of offering George a maximum contract and are willing to do so. The team’s consistent links to George and their financial capacity make them a strong contender.

However, it remains uncertain whether George prefers a move back to the East Coast or if he would rather stay on the West Coast with the Los Angeles Clippers, even if it means accepting a lower salary. The Clippers have not made significant efforts to retain George. George is said to prioritize securing a fourth year on his contract when he reaches the age of 34, which poses a risk for the 76ers. Nevertheless, they appear willing to meet his demands in order to add another star player alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.
