US Justice Department Proposes Boeing Plead Guilty to Fraud Over Fatal Crashes

The U.S. Justice Department has proposed that Boeing plead guilty to criminal fraud in connection with the two deadly plane crashes involving its 737 Max jetliners, according to sources familiar with the matter. The offer includes an independent monitor and Boeing has until the end of the week to accept or reject it. Lawyers representing the families of the crash victims have expressed dissatisfaction with the offer, as they were hoping for additional charges and a trial. Both Boeing and the Justice Department have declined to comment on the matter.
